Ollie got his port out today!!

🚨 Ollie did it!!! 🚨 He crushed his port removal surgery last Friday 6/18/21 and had energy to spare! ✨

The Power Ranger theme song was his anthem today! He started the day with it to get himself pump for the surgery, listened to it as soon as he woke up from anesthesia, and ended the day with a rainbow cupcake and an amazing care package from 2 organizations! Whoa! What a day! 🦸‍♂️

He had an amazing pre-op nurse name Judy who was incredible and gave him so many goodies to stay entertained while waiting to be brought back to the operating room. Child Life wasn’t available but that didn’t bother him, he had music going, coloring, playing with trucks and watching Paw Patrol! 🐶

The same Dr. that placed his port 2 yrs and 2 months ago took it out today. It was surreal! Big thanks to Dr. A. and SACU team for taking such amazing care of Ollie. His port line was a little tricky to get out bc it was tangled in his clavicle but he got it out without any major complications. And it should be a quick recovery. 👨‍⚕️

Nurse Matt was amazing post operation/recovery and got Ollie chocolate ice cream as soon as he woke up. 🍦

When we came home Ollie had so much energy we had to remind him to take it easy. He enjoyed watching Raya and the Last Dragon and a rainbow cupcake! 🧁

We were surprised with two amazing care packages. One from The Sunshine Kids Foundation and the other from Tony’s Hugs aka Hearts of Hope Network. Truly remarkable organizations and we can’t thank our families and everyone enough for all the good vibes, prayers and well wishes! We feel so loved! Thank you! Stay tuned more exciting things in store! 🥰
