He did it!
Ollie did it!!!! He rang the bell yesterday!! This marks the end of his treatments! 🙏
.
.
There is no way to accurately put into words the flood of emotions that we felt yesterday. So many mixed feeling, and happy tears that he’s accomplished this huge milestone! We pray that those dark days are over and Ollie can go on to live a “normal” life. 💝
.
.
To think back to the day when our hearts were broken on 2/17/19 when he was 21 months old and how little he was and how much was unknown to us. And to see him thriving yesterday, walking with a pep in his step, requesting one of his favorite pump up songs on the drive to clinic, getting his blood drawn like a pro and ringing the bell completely independently is a moment we will always remember. His entire team sang and celebrated all that he’s accomplished and it was nothing short of amazing. 🙌
.
.
The two years and two months of his treatment feels like an epic journey and yet a blink of an eye. We couldn’t have done it without the support of his top notch amazing pediatric oncology-hematology team guiding us (and continue to guide us) each step of the way. 💖
.
.
The amount of love in the room yesterday was unlike anything and we are forever grateful for everything the team does say in and out to help families like ours. 👩⚕️👨⚕️

Ollie will continue to get his blood checked monthly until next Spring and then he will go every other month for a year, 3rd year he’ll go every 3 months, 4th year every 6 months and then 5th year he’ll be in the survivor clinic and get blood checked annually for a very long time. Our UMASS team will always be like family.🏥
Ollie’s immune system is still recovering and it could take up to a year for it to recover fully (sometimes it takes longer) He will have an echocardiogram every 5 years to make sure his heart is ok as one of the treatments he had to endured can effect the heart. ❤️
We will continue to pray that the long term side effects from the treatments are minimal and he continues to grow and live a long and healthy life! He and Leo are our world and we are so blessed to be their parents and have so much love surround us. 👨👩👦👦
Ryan and I plan to record and A.L.L. Mamma Care podcast episode to talk more in detail about his end of treatment, the car parade celebration, ringing the bell and post treatment follow up. So stay tuned for that! 🎧
We’re looking forward to all that life has to offer our little family and our hearts are so full. We will continue to take it one day at a time as although this is a very joyous milestone it would be remiss if I didn’t mention there is some anxiety, PTSD and racing thoughts as we navigate out of active treatment and focus on survivorship. 🌪
We will honor Ollie/ our family’s journey and choose joy to celebrate each day and be forever grateful that we are all together. We are even more grateful that his blood counts this month we’re perfect! ✨
Ollie is looking forward to all that life has to offer. Trying new experiences, new foods, new words, gaining coordination and confidence daily and most of all playing Leo, his little brother. ⚽️
As a family we’re looking forward to some more surprises in store for Ollie as we figure out his Make-A-Wish in the near future. 🎉
